PRIVACY POLICY

Updated May 25, 2018

The Digital Press is committed to maintaining and safeguarding your privacy, including the privacy of (a) the information contained in orders you place in our website's store (shop.thedigitalpress.co), and (b) the information you submit as a member of our online community (forums.thedigitalpress.co -and/or- www.thedigitalpress.co). By using our website and products, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy further defines what personally-identifiable information ("Personal Information") we collect and how we use that information.

If you have questions or concerns regarding this privacy policy, you may contact us here or send us an email here.

I. INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE

1. Information Ownership
The Digital Press is the sole owner of the information collected on our web site. This information consists of personal information that is collected from our users at several different points on our website, as detailed below (see I.2. Registration).

2. Registration
We collect personal information from our users at several different points on our website, as detailed here:
(a) In order to make a purchase from The Digital Press website (shop.thedigitalpress.co), you must first complete a registration form to create a password-protected user account. This user account consists of creating a username and password, shipping/mailing address information, and possibly your phone number. In the store, your selected username will be associated with your valid email address to ensure communication can take place between our administrative staff and yourself on an as-needed basis. Your username, email address, and/or shipping/mailing address will not be visible to others users who are shopping in The Digital Press store.
(b) In order to become an active member of The Digital Press community forum and/or image gallery (forums.thedigitalpress.co), you must first complete a registration form (separate from the store account in I.2.(a), above) to create a password-protected user account. This user account consists of creating a username and password. The username identifies you to other forum/gallery users by that username, which will be associated with your valid email address to ensure communication can take place between our administrative staff and yourself on an as-needed basis. While your username will be publicly displayed if you actively participate in our forum/gallery, your email address will not (unless you choose to display it yourself).
(c)In order to engage in communication on The Digital Press blog (www.thedigitalpress.co) -- i.e. leave comments, respond to comments, etc. -- you must provide your email address when such comments are submitted. The email address will not be publicly displayed on our site (blog), but it will be stored in our system and accessible/visible to members of our administrative staff who are tasked with monitoring the comments and communication that takes place on that portion of our website.

We will retain your information (collected as described in I.2.(a), I.2.(b), and I.2.(c), above) for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with service. If you wish to cancel your account or request that we no longer use your information to provide you services, you can contact us. We will withhold and use collected personal information as required to satisfy our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and/or enforce agreements.

2. Orders/Purchases
When you purchase something from our website at The Digital Press (shop.thedigitalpress.co), we maintain some personally-identifiable information, as collected at registration. Upon registration (see I.2.(a), above), you previously provided contact and personal information (such as your name, your email address, your postal mailing address, and possibly your phone number). We use this information to fill your orders and maintain our own customer records. If we have trouble processing an order, we will use this information to contact you. We will not use this information for any other purpose; nor will we provide this information to any other entity unless legally required in order to satisfy our legal oblications, resolve disputes, and/or enforce agreements. WITH REGARD TO PURCHASES PLACED AT OUR WEBSITE: WE DO NOT EVER COLLECT OR MAINTAIN PAYMENT INFORMATION, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, CREDIT CARD INFORMATION OR BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION. We employ a third party agent to do this (see III.2. Agents, below, for more information).

3. Information Use
The personal information collected at The Digital Press is used to process orders to verify correct ownership of the information used. We may use or disclose information about your demographics and use of the site in any manner that does not reveal your identity. Nothing is sold, rented, leased or otherwise shared with other sources, not e-mail addresses, mailing addresses, telephone numbers or email addresses other that it may be used by us to communicate advance notice of events, new products and/or services. In addition, we do not retain any of your financial information.

4. Contests/Surveys
From time-to-time we may provide you the opportunity to participate in contests or surveys on our site. If you participate, we will request certain personally-identifiable information. Participation in surveys or contests is always voluntary, and you therefore have a choice as to whether or not you wish to participate and disclose information. The requested information typically includes contact information (such as name, contact information, and shipping address). We use this personal information to notify contest winners and award prizes.

II. WEBSITE COMMUNICATION

1. Newsletters
You must subscribe (opt in) to receive our newsletter, which is sent out on a twice-weekly basis, on average. We will use your email address to send you copies of this newsletter; you may unsubscribe from this at any time using the "unsubscribe" link located at the bottom of every newsletter transmission.

2. Orders/Purchases
When you purchase something from our website at The Digital Press (shop.thedigitalpress.co), our system will send out automatically-generated messages to your email address in order to provide you with items that include (but are not limited to): invoices, receipts, product download links after a purchase is made, etc. These auto-generated messages are triggered by purchases you make, and will be sent out in order to fulfill your orders/purchases and provide you with information about said orders/purchases.

3. Customer Service
Based on the personal information you provide at registration and during any other contact with our website, we will communicate with you in response to your inquiries and/or to provide you with services at your request. We may also use this information to manage your account, as necessary. We will communicate with you by email, as is required to resolve any issues.

III. INFORMATION SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

1. Legal Disclaimer
We reserve the right to disclose any personally-identifiable information that we have collected from you, as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary, to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our website.

2. Agents
We use an agent (i.e. third party company) -- PayPal (www.paypal.com) -- to process payments for all of the goods and services we sell. Please consult with this separate entity about its specific privacy policies. WITH REGARD TO PURCHASES PLACED AT OUR WEBSITE: WE DO NOT EVER COLLECT OR MAINTAIN PAYMENT INFORMATION, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, CREDIT CARD INFORMATION OR BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION. This information is handled/stored exclusively by PayPal, as necessary to process your payments. The Digital Press does not directly process payments on our own system at any time.

3. Aggregate Information
Aggregate information includes things such as browser types, Internet Service Providers (ISPs), Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, etc. We do not link aggregate user data (non-personally identifiable information) with the personal information we collect, nor do we share this aggregate information with anyone. The only exception to this policy relates to the fact that we are able to link IP addresses with user accounts in our website's store in order to ensure that the customers who download products from our website are actually the same customers who purchased those products from our website (i.e. in order to avoid product piracy, which is a breach of our Terms of Use); nonetheless, we do not share that IP address/user account information with anyone else unless it is legally required to do so in order to satisfy our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and/or enforce agreements.

4. Personally-Identifiable Information
We do not share personal information with third parties except as outlined in this privacy policy.

5. Change in Ownership
If The Digital Press is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, you will be notified via email and/or we will display a prominent notice on our website of any change in ownership or use of your personal information. We will also notify you with any further choices you have regarding your personal information at that time.

IV. OVERALL SECURITY AND ACCESS

1. Security
The security of your personal information is important to us. We utilize Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology for an added layer of security on our website. We implement industry standards to protect the personal information transmitted and received by our website; however, while we strive to use the foremost means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

2. Log Files
We gather certain information automatically and store in the form of log files. This information includes browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, referring/exit pages, computer operating system/version, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. We use this information, which does not identify individual users, to analyze trends, administer the site, track users’ movements around the site, and gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We do not link this data to personal information. Again, as detailed above (in III.3. Aggregate Information), the only exception to this policy relates to the fact that we are able to link IP addresses with user accounts in our website's store in order to ensure that the customers who download products from our website are actually the same customers who purchased those products from our website (i.e. in order to avoid product piracy, which is a breach of our Terms of Use); nonetheless, we do not share that IP address/user account information with anyone else unless it is legally required to do so in order to satisfy our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and/or enforce agreements.

3. Cookies

We do not link the information collected from cookies to any personal information you submit while visiting the website. Instead, our system uses session cookies to store information such as customer shopping cart contents (allowing your cart contents to remain in place as you continue shopping/browsing the site), and for added security; these cookies expire when the local browser is closed. If you reject cookies, you may still use The Digital Press website; your ability to use some areas of our site, however, will be limited.

4. Links to Other Sites
The Digital Press website contains links to other websites that are not owned or controlled The Digital Press. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites. Due to the nature of each of the environs, this personal information could be used to send unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for the personal information you choose to disclose in the forums/gallery/blog.

6. Access to Personal Information
If your personal information changes or if you no longer desire our service, you may correct, update, delete, or deactivate it by simply removing your account from any of the various locations of our site (www.thedigitalpress.co -and/or- shop.thedigitalpress.co -and/or- forums.thedigitalpress.co), or by contacting us directly.

V. CHANGES TO PRIVACY POLICY

When changes are required to this privacy policy, we will modify this page as deemed appropriate in order to ensure that you are aware of the information we collect, how the information is used, and how the information is disclosed. We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently; the date of last update will be clearly marked at the top of this document.
